Shaylynn Marks (She/Her)
Shaylynn Marks is a freelance writer and Adjunct Instructor currently pursuing an MFA in Poetry at Hood College. Her prose, non-fiction, and poetry have been featured in Far Out Magazine (UK), Flash Fiction Magazine, In Parentheses Literary Magazine, Scumbag Press (UK), Blood+Honey Lit, Ant-Heroin Chic, and Washington Writers' Publishing House, among others. She was nominated as 2023 Runner-up for Poet of the Year with Poetic Anarchy Press and won the 2025 Sass Magazine Readers’ Choice Award for Best Local Author.
She will be sober from heroin for a decade this November. Much of her work focuses on addiction/recovery, queerness, and sex work. You can check out all her published work on her website.

Alina Nicole (She/Her)
Alina Nicole is a graduate student living in central Maryland. She is currently earning her MFA in creative writing at Hood College. She can often be found testing new poetry in venues throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area, making regular appearances at numerous Busboys & Poets open mics, as well as Frederick’s Sky Stage and Book Arts Center. She is the fiction editor for the Pergola Literary Magazine.
She is a queer mixed Latinx trans woman. The majority of her work orbits issues of addiction, identity, sexuality, and her distinct experience of intersectionality."
